Generational lines

Speak 👑

We’re the spoiled ones, who prefer to check our Social Media statistics rather than interact with the world around us, we’re the generation too young to have fought in a major war, and we’re guilty of beginning to forget the lessons learned by those who lived through one. We don’t know enough about life, yet we feel like we do, with the ever growing opinionated twitter population.

We aren’t eager to volunteer and change the world, we haven’t recognised the value in our education like most of our parents, and we refuse to cherish the idea that learning for learning’s sake is a Good thing, instead we’re confidently narcissistic, over-sharing our every moment, pouring out every unedited thought to the world, desperate for the approval and endorsement of our peers throughout the internet.

We’re upbeat, preferring to believe that everything will turn out okay, in the face of…

The Man King

When i hear the  name Martin Luther king, Jr. I think of peace, love, freedom, equality, justice etc. After over a decade of non-violent civil right activism, Dr Martin King leaves  behind a message of solidarity and social justice. His life story also inspires race relation conversations of today.

I visited the KINGS CENTRE in Atlanta some weeks back with a couple of friends. This place is a living memorial dedicated to the advancement of his legacy. I took pictureeeesss and you bet am gonna share it with you guys. Guest what!!! the tour is FREE!!!!!!

Unfortunately, cameras were prohibited inside the house. Most of the furniture is a period furniture, however his family owned a few pieces.

The King’s centre was an amazing experience. A great reminder of how one person and others stood up in the face of diversity for a strong belief that world needs to change.

Hey guys!

I was craving some hot, spicy shrimps yesterday and I was like hey! Red lobster is just few minutes away. I had to drag my aunt to come along.

As usual, am always stocked going through menu booklet lol! It took me about 20 minutes to finally come up with a decision.

We both had some chilled lemonade of course! coleslaw and cheddar bay biscuits as appetizers.

For the main course, I had the Seaside Shrimp Trio (Walt’s favourite shrimp, garlic shrimp scampi and creamy shrimp linguini Alfredo) with some french fries.

Wood-grilled selections special (chimichurri shrimp, pineapple teriyaki chicken, spicy Tennessee bourbon shrimp and spicy coconut rice) was picked by my aunt.

Verdict: no regrets at all! If you love seafood, Red lobster is always at your service. Trust me when I say it’s affordable! I love it!

Let me know what you think!

So you want something. It’s important and vital for your life’s progress and so it holds great value. What’s that one thing you need to achieve; the attainment of this thing you so dearly wish to possess?

Being a medical student, determination is something I have to have in abundance – right from the level of getting admission into medical school, nothing came easily. When I first started my application, I was doing my A-Levels and a requirement for applying for medical school in the UK was a minimum of six months work experience in a health service environment. The struggle to get a placement alone was highly discouraging but I managed to push past the several disappointments and finally got a placement at a general practitioner’s clinic – only to be stuck with filing patient files for six months, yes, for the entire duration of my HEALTH SERVICE work experience I spent it rearranging the clinic’s filing system, but I knew it was a requirement for my goal and so I continued going to work punctually and filing like my life depended on it.

Yet, after all that, I didn’t get into medical school in the UK.

But that didn’t kill my spirit. Instead, I started a course in biomedical sciences with the aim of getting a First class result in my first year and applying for a transfer to medical school. I decided to apply outside the UK and to God be the glory I got not one, nor two but FOUR medical school admission offers in different schools across Europe and Nigeria.

It took me an extra year but by the grace of God I’m now in my 4th out of 6 years in medical school. I can’t tell you of all the many struggles I’ve fought on the course to where I am now but I can tell you that determination brought me a whole long way – and it can do the same for you. Fix your eyes on a goal and work towards it with all you’ve got, and soon, you’ll be gleaming whilst reaping the benefits of your sacrifices.

SPRING STAPLES: 8 items you must own this spring

Spring is just beautiful mainly because we all know that means summer is closer than ever. Time to actually have fun without school projects cramping our style. Basically, these items are spring staples mainly because of the colors introduced and the bipolar spring weather in Hungary currently and other countries as well.

Coming from winter and our dark outfits, bright colors and stripes will be so refreshing to include in your wardrobe. Pair these with some jeans and ankle boots and you’re good to go.

Well, this goes without saying. Spring is still chill, just not as cold as winter so ankles boots or cut out boots will keep the cold at bay.

The sun is here to stay brah. So get some of these or some fashionable sunglasses and you’re sorted. Not to talk about the element of coolness it adds to your outfit.

Well, if you’re a fan then that’s cool. Play with colors because it’s spring and its bright and dandy.

Personally I have trust issues when it come to the weather of Debrecen. I wear a coat out and the weather decides to burn my soul. I wear a crop top and it rains. So guess what, a slip dress plays right into its bipolar tendencies. Thrown on a parka or denim jacket or even a leather jacket with some ankle boots and maybe a light scarf and girl, like I always say, you’re sorted.

Well, no brainer. We need a scarf for this weather. If it’s cold you throw it on, if it’s hot, well… Just make sure it’s handy at all times.

Just for fun. Just because every living thing with two legs should own one. COME ON, it’s white!!

It’s so easy to run errands with a backpack. Especially when the weather isn’t so trustworthy, you don’t want that extra stress on your being.

These are my personal staples for now. Let us know the items you cannot stay without this spring in the comments.

Between, do you need pictures? Let me know so I’ll check some out and send it to you.

Happiness but not happiness- Gerald Joseph

We like to think life should be all sunshine and rainbows, we are swift to blame the devil the minute something goes wrong.

The idea that happiness should be constant has eaten deep into our mindset like a canker worm, a contagious epidemic.

I sit sometimes and wonder, are we going to teach our children to be happy? Or are we going to teach them to be strong, are we going to teach them to always plan for the best and not teach them the corresponding “expect the worst lesson” in return?

Don’t get the wrong idea, being happy is a beautiful thing, but we should not fear sadness in the process.

Are you pursuing just happiness or are you pursuing a fulfilled life?

If happiness is all you seek then you do not want to experience life, and if you do not want to experience life then you do not want to learn.

“In pursuit of happiness”

Yhh scratch that

“In pursuit of life” 👊🏼

The wisest man I have ever known once told me that the day I fully believe that I will not experience things that will try to break my spirit is the day I break my spirit.

Strive to be whole, strive to be complete, strive to experience life in it’s entirety, by this I mean every emotion, disappointment, sadness, pain, fear, failure, frustration and not just happiness alone.

Tell yourself that if I have Italian today, a certain chain of events may cause me to break bread tomorrow, and that my friend, is okay.

A lot of us do things based on the “is it contributing to my happiness” hypothesis, replace that with “is it contributing to my growth as an individual”

So wether the sun is shining or it’s raining like never before, come hail or high water, you know you’re learning, you’re growing

You’re not just happy.
